Styling Spaces, Creating a Home

Our homes should make us feel happy, safe and warm. They should be easy to live in and allow us to relax and enjoy ourselves after a long day out in the world. But often, we get tired of our homes, and the pull of all the beautiful interior design images make us yearn for a big expensive renovation, or even worse, a never-ending DIY project.

But often there is no need for all that if you are feeling a little bit uninspired by your home. You can reorganize and style corner by corner, nook by nook, room by room, until it all seems to work again and bring you peace.

There's no need to throw all of your belongings out and to purge your life in one stressful weekend. Instead, bring focus and attention to one space at a time. The little vignettes will all connect together over time, thanking you with a peaceful happy space. Because a relationship isn't about a one-time grand gesture, but ongoing effort of love and care.

Spaces for your activities

What do you enjoying doing at home? Cooking and hosting dinners for your friends? Reading books with nice cup of tea or a glass of wine? Cuddling up on the sofa and watching your favourite TV shows? Or admiring your vast collection of beloved things? The most important thing is, the spaces where you spend the majority of your time have to be the most comfortable and enjoyable.

There is no need to follow the HGTV formula - entryway, family room, living room, den, dining room, kitchen, powder room, master bedroom with ensuite and etc. You can decide how you want to use the space that you have. Perhaps, the little bedroom for sleeping, but a large room for your office. Your studio with more floor space for yoga instead of a dining table. Stacks of well-loved books everywhere, but a kitchen only used for snacks.

No matter how big or small, don't be afraid to rearrange your house in a way that suits you. It's your home, after all.

Vignettes of happiness

Carve out little spaces for a couple of objects that you want to display, like your daily face products or items that you need before heading out of the house. It's easy to keep a small collection organized and dust-free.

Go green

Wellness and beauty combined. Purified air, a meditative 5 minutes a week for watering, and so pretty to look at. Plants instantly bring freshness and texture to your space. You can even give them names.

Don't know where to start? Don't know how to determine what you need from your home? Or just want a consultation and a fresh pair of eyes?
